The Drask is a Behemoth of Threat Level 7 that can be found in the Yonder Keys. At least 275 is the recommended power before tackling this Behemoth. It is of the Shock Element, so wearing Shock resistant armor only proves to be helpful towards surviving the fight while equipping Terra weapon allows you to deal more damage as Terra is its weakness. But this is no beast to scoff at, for it can deal massive damage and make even the sturdiest of slayers into reptile food. However, the armor you get from it is perhaps one of the best ones in the game.
The Drask can be a wall for many as it’s undoubtedly a tough monster to face, however beating it unlocks you to a new scale of power and a grasp of the gameplay on a higher level. So look forward to the fight. It can be hard at first, but generally, it’s easy to learn its maneuvers which you can ultimately counter to bring the Drask down.
Before fighting equip Shock and Terra, armor and weapon respectively. Equipping the Insulated Cell perk also helps as it shortens the duration of the Shocked status if you get hit by any lightning attack. With this perk, you’ll get more opportunities to heal yourself, which will help you survive the fight for longer.
How To Beat The Drask In Dauntless
The Drask has an unfairly large hitbox with its tail. So focusing on cutting that first should be your priority. It spins around with the tail, and that attack can hit you twice with massive damage. Dodge twice when it spins and then get to cutting the tail for it makes the fight way more trivial. The tail is hard to cut, however, since the Drask tries to keep it away from you and the tells for its tail attack are almost impossible to predict. But with enough practice, you might be able to see it. The best timing is hitting it once with a big weapon and then dodging real quick towards the tail. Repeat.
Once you get the tail off, just position yourself by its side legs as it makes your life easier when fighting it. You can easily see its moves, and once you master it, you can just dodge right through it.
None of it’s attacks can be interrupted however, your best bet is when it’s not attacking to stunlock it. Equipping a Hammer and aiming for the head does wonders in staggering it. Otherwise, there are not many chances in stunlocking the Drask.
Alternatively, if you take an Ice weapon with you, you can put the Frost effect on it and then by popping a Speed Pill and rapidly hitting the tail you might be able to score a lot of damage and successfully cut it. This is riskier but the payoff is great. So don’t be afraid to take some hits if you do that.
