Where to Find the Simmered Forneus Recipe Book in Bloodstained

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a game developed by the famous Koji Igarashi of the Castlevania series fame. Released on 13th June 2019, it focuses on what made those games iconic while delivering new and fresh ideas alongside them. One such idea is the inclusion of dishes that boost Miriam (the player character)’s stats. These items are usually hidden throughout the game, which can make finding them a bit tedious. Among them, one of the most arduous to obtain items is the Bloodstained Simmered Forneus Recipe. This guide serves to show you where to find this recipe book as the item can really help you later during the game.

Bloodstained, by itself, can be a hard game at times, but for collectionists, it ends up being even more challenging. However, compared to the painful other tasks, acquiring this recipe book is only a bit challenging. You can find this recipe book in the “Forbidden Underground Waterway” location.

The area itself is one of those obligatory “water” levels that most games have now. The place is crawling with enemies, which can prove to be hard. You can acquire this item after draining the Blood Fountain. The area can be a bit maze-like, but not something you can’t overcome.

To reach the recipe book, teleport to the entrance and then proceed down the waterway. You’ll reach a sloped room eventually; there should be a lot of elevators that could act as a hint if you’re in the right direction or not. Go past the room and into a room full of enemies like Toads or Buers.

Note: One important thing to keep in mind is that you can’t access the book without the proper upgrades. Mainly, the Inverted or High Jump.

Once you’ve acquired the recipe book, you’ll need a couple of items to craft it. One such item is “Forneus Filet,” which is dropped by the enemies there.

The other item you’ll need is soy sauce. Soy sauce can be tricky to find. It is located in only one area in Bloodstained: the Oriental Sorcery Lab, which is located in the top left of the map. As this is one of the more endgame areas, it’s fine even if you haven’t reached it yet. You can find the sauce in one of the blue chests there. However, this drop isn’t guaranteed. Simply run between the runs with the chests, and pray to God that the drop is more forgiving this time.

The last item you’ll need is sugar, which you can purchase from Dominique for as little as 100G.
